Ohiro Road - from Brooklyn Road to the shops (Cleveland/Todman intersection)

  • Install painted bike lanes on both sides of Ohiro Road between the top of Brooklyn Road and the shops, replacing on-street parking (a safer connection on this section was one of the most suggested improvements during feedback on the trial)
  • Install two new raised zebra crossings on Ohiro Road, near Brooklyn Terrace (by 157 Ohiro Road) and near Tanera Crescent
  • Combine the two Brooklyn-bound bus stops so there is just one stop on this part of Ohiro Road (located in a spot between the two existing ones), and install a bus stop by-pass
  • Make minor footpath improvements near the citybound bus stop at Tanera Crescent (stop 7718) to provide a safe connection between the new zebra crossing and the bus stop
  • Change the intersection of Ohiro Road and Brooklyn Road to make it safer for everyone. The area on the hill side where some people park would be used in different ways including to provide a new footpath connection.

Ohiro Road – from Brooklyn Road to Aro Street

  • Create a safer shared on-road bike route downhill via Ohiro Road to Aro Street with six new speed humps and improved road markings to encourage safer speeds
  • Install a new raised courtesy crossing at the Aro Street intersection
  • Replace the give way sign at Aro Street with a stop sign.
